The New South Wales Government established the Hunter Infrastructure and Investment Fund (HIIF) in 2011 to enhance the Hunter’s infrastructure, including transport, education, water and health infrastructure to support economic growth and enhance the liveability of the region.

The Government allocated $350 million to the Fund over four years, commencing in the 2011-12 financial year. The Government added a further $100 million through the 2014 State Budget.

The HIIF is overseen by an Advisory Board appointed by the NSW Government which provides advice to the Minister for Planning the Hon. Rob Stokes MP.

Planning Minister Rob Stokes today announced three community projects will receive more than $600,000 to build new community facilities and protect the local environment.
